I finally went to see the movie Up by Disney pixar.

I was looking forward to seeing the movie, as I am totally in love with the work that Pixar does. The thing is, I thought The Incredibles was really awesome as a story, great action, character development, and music…

But, I thought that the last one, you know….the one with the trash picking robot…was kind of flat. I mean, the animation was completely stunning, but Wall-e sort of fell flat with the story and character development.

I was looking forward to being completely drawn in and taken away by Up.

The movie’s best parts, were the beginning scene, where in the span of about 5 minutes, you are taken on a whirl wind story of how we get to Carl in the present.

It is a heart warming, and sad story of Carl meeting his future wife, and their life together. You are left with him at the end of the sequence, alone after her passing. This does set up the story for the rest of the movie.

The story progresses as Carl needs to leave his home due to losing a law suit with developers that want his property.

Carl decides to move on and meets up with a little fat wilderness exporer, Russell.

The movie takes its twists and turn, and the characters are endearing, but at the end of the day, I willl say that I was a bit disappointed.

The movie is very well done, and the story is well written and seamless, but that newness and fresh approach that Pixar used to come to the table with is starting to fade.

Don’t get me wrong. Go see the movie. It is one to see on it’s own merits, but the completely amazing and over delivering that Pixar is known for may be lingering….
